Trivia 2N

Here, in two quotes, is the best example of what makes the sluts in the suites different from actual human beings.

When asked for his definition of social responsibility, former CEO of General Electric Jack Welsh replied, "Win.  By winning, being profitable.  Only then can you be a socially responsible company. If you are worried about your job, you can't give anything back."  So, I suppose that on the way to becoming a profitable company you pretty much have carte blanc as to the damage you do to society but, once you're successful, you can suddenly change your ways and become a socially responsible entity?  I suppose, as well, that if your company comes into a economic slump, then you're once again given the old carte blanc to screw society any way you want?  ( 1 )

When asked how his 1995 heart by-pass surgery had changed him, he answered, "I thought to myself, 'Before the operation, I didn't spend enough money."  This quote will have to stand on its own because I just can't improve on it.  ( 2 )

Remember when we mentioned Katie Sierra and her cool T-shirt that got her in so much trouble with the Nazis in her West Virginia high school?  Well, she apparently wore a different one a few days before that said, "Racism, Sexism, Homophobia, I'm so Proud of People in the Land of the So-Called Free."  Doesn't quite trip off the tongue like the other one but it's still very accurate, nonetheless.  Ms Sierra is simply one of the first victims of the fascist state that is so valued by the moron and his criminal regime. ( 3 )

On Nov. 7, a small wire transfer business, Barakat Wire Transfer, owned by a Somalia named Abdinasir Nur, was raided by U.S. Customs agents.  They seized the assets and equipment of the wire transfer service as well as from the mini mart and meat stores next to it.  The excuse for this raid was that Osama bin Laden's Al Qaeda used wire transfers to launder an estimated $25 million.  The money from Barakat went through the local Bank of America on its way to Dubai where the "bad guys" supposedly skimmed 5% for Al Qadea.

Now that this small businessman has been destroyed financially, the government has been given the power  by Congress to ignore the owner's Fifth Amendment right to a speedy trial.  The government could let the case drag on for years without ever charging Nur or explaining to a court the reasons for the action.

Oh, and now that Nur is no longer a "danger" to America, one might note that Bank of America, the major transfer organization, has yet to be raided or have its assets seized.  Maybe because BofA owns enough representation to fight such an unconstitutional act while Nur can be considered just another brown-skinned "suspected terrorist" that the Customs agents can attack without any fear of reprisals.  ( 4 )

How do the British view the act of taking away freedoms and liberties from their citizens?  According to David Blunkett, British Home Secretary, "We can live in a world with wiry-fairy civil liberties and believe the best in everybody - and they will destroy us."

So, according to Blunkett, we have only two choices for our future.  Ignored among those choices are such "airy-fairy" ideas such as no longer supporting any government that refuses its citizens those same civil liberties or perhaps to cease imposing our will on the billions of people who inhabit the rest of the planet or maybe becoming the shining beacon of democracy and freedom that we claim to be but fail to be.  Perhaps these "airy-fairy civil liberties" should continue to be the foundation of our government and he source of our freedoms and no longer considered an obstacle to our safety.  ( 5 )

In reaction to the massive problem of the drug industry's sales representatives bribing doctors to prescribe their brand of drugs, the American Medical Association has launched a campaign to educate the doctors and sales reps about the ethics concerning the "gifts" that are little more than bribes.  The campaign, however, isn't quite as ethical and honest as it appears in as much as $645,000 of the campaign's $695,000 budget comes directly from, you guessed it, the drug industry.
